With the sunny weather the John Cooper Tournament got underway at the fantastic grounds of Stirling County Cricket Club.
We had 13 teams playing today; Stirling, Livingstone,Doune, Perth Doo' cot, Glenrothes, Clackmannan, Arbroath, Stenhousemuir (2 teams), West Quartere, Largo, Callander and CFV Girls.
After the group stages Perth Doo'cot, Arbroath, Largo and Stenhousemuir 1 all got through to the semi finals.
In the semi finals Stenhousemuir had to pull out all the stops after the teams were tied and managed to get over the line against Largo.Perth Doo' cot had a win over Arbroath to take them in the finals against Stenhousemuir.
In the final Stenhousemuir (249) managed to pull off a win against Perth Doo'cot (229) to be crowned the champions of the John Cooper Tournament for 2016.
In the 3rd/4th playoff Largo put the heartbreak of losing a close semi final to beat Arbroath and secure 3rd place.
Sam Aitken from Stenhousemuir was also named as the Player of the Tournament which was a well deserved award, congratulations from everyone.
John Cooper our sponsor was on hand to present the medals to all teams taking part and present the Trophy to Captain Callum Moffat from Stenhousemuir.
A big thank you to all the parents, coaches and players who made it to Stirling County Cricket Club today.
Also a massive thank you to Stirling County Cricket Club for hosting the tournament today and putting on a BBQ and keeping the clubhouse open for teas, coffees etc.
A massive congratulations to all teams who took part today as cricket was the winner.
Looking forward to the 2017 tournament already.

The Game
The emphasis of Kwik Cricket should always be on participation and enjoyment.
There are numerous ways in which a group of children can play Kwik Cricket, in theory any number of children play, from 2–32. Simply adapt the game to your own particular environment in terms of time available and numbers playing.
The various formats can be adapted to suit the number of children playing and the time available –
